F*** Politics!

The election has come and gone.  I did not pay attention to the debates between Bush and Kerry but I didnt feel as if I needed to.  My vote wouldnt count either way because it has been known that it would come down to one of the “battleground” states such as Ohio, and it did.  Living in New York its pretty much set in stone that we are going to go democratic.  Ok sounds to me. Our gov’t is considered a democracy, a democracy is defined as “Government by the people”, “Majority rule”, and “a form of government in which the supreme power is retained by the people”.  How is true?  Luckily this year the president won by collecting both the majority of the popular vote along with the electoral college.  Last election this demcratic process did not work.  Which in turn has made ppl not care about the election because its not really true that “majority rule” will be the deciding factor in who runs the free world.  If this process changes (so that popular vote does elect our president), I will pay attention to the next election and make my educated selection knowing that my choice could matter.  This year I didnt feel that way.

What worries me more than our pathetic voting process is that since 9/11 a lot of ppl say that we are more unified as a country.  I dont think that we are that unified at all.  There are so many different opinions and beliefs, how can someone say that we are unified?  When the vote is anywhere close to being 50/50 you have very obvious proof that we are not.  One side believes we should be over there fighting a war and the other side doesn’t think our presense shouldnt be as heavy.  So which is right?  No one will ever know.  If we were indeed a unified country we should follow one person that is not the lesser of two evils, but is a leader who is willing to help all aspects of the country (i know easier said that done). Below I want you to read some away messages and profiles that I have cut and pasted that cleary reflects some ppls opinions on this election…enjoy

“i’m at a loss for words… i can’t BELIEVE i live in a country that supports fucking george w bush… i’m EMBARASSED by my country… what’s so bad about treating ALL people equally, seriously?”

“Fuckin sad day for America….
God help us….”

“FUCK THE ELECTION - FUCK POLITICS - FUCK VOTING”

“Thanks! You useless fucking bible beaters in the midwest. Now we’re all FUCKED!”

“I know I only know about .000000001431 percent of the ppl in the US but I only know of 2 ppl that were happy to hear about Bush”

“i wonder if kids get embarrassed at school on career day?
when their parents work full time at mcdonalds
thanks george”

“looks like bush is going to spend the next four years cleaning up his own mess. on the bright side…at least we‘re guarenteed a new leader in the year 2008″.

“I told everyone fuck politics!”

A note form a soldier (really):
“I wish to thank my fellow residents of North/South Carolina for allowing me to make a wonderful trip to the sunny vaction paradise of Iraq. And god bless Texas, fucking inbred hillbilly hicks. FTS (FUCK THE SOUTH!!!)”

PS. I hope all those people who vote for Bush could take the place of the soldiers who are dying for lies and corporate greet. I’m glad you have the guts to send someone else to die in your place…

The headline is LONDON‘S newspaper was such:
“How can 59,000,000 people be so DUMB.”
My thoughts exactly.

“FUCK THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE”

“The projected deficit for the next ten years if bush’s plans are implemented is 2.3 Trillion dollars and that is on top of the existing deficit of 7.4 trillion.”
“In my first three years in office, I signed historic and comprehensive tax relief that has… reduced the tax burden for 111 million Americans.” -  “Save now, Pay forever…Good thing Bush is a fiscal conservative”

Hope that was good for a laugh.  If you hadn’t read the “perspective” entry yet please go back and do so (its right before this one).  It is pretty important to me that as many ppl can read about that story.  Hope everyone is doing well.  I promise after this entry I will get back to the funny entries.

What a great blog, and conglomeration of "quotes." I truly believe that the voting process needs an adjustment, just like the BCS. it seems that in both cases, the better of the two is not usually the winner. Democracy is quickly turning into a brooding heap of shit, perversing the streets of America with the souls of Our fallen soldiers and the tears of the mother‘s who lost them. GWB needs to understand that HIS views may be the correct ones to a man that makes more money than a small township is worth, in Africa, but his ideals fall upon deaf ears to the countless millions of Americans that create a vast middle class–one Kerry vowed to uplift–in a dwindling economy. For the first time in my life, I am against a "Bush" with no protection.

Well put. Democracy and the credibility that goes along with it are turning to shit. If it keeps up not only will our own citizens not take our free country serious but other countries wont either. I can see the headlines now… "Canada on the rise to be next Superpower".

  3. Kurt says:

whoa, wait a second, you think Canada will overpower New Zealand…?…err…Madagascar? LOL. I hear ya man, now it will be THEM letting US into the country

  4. Bartz says:

Better beware of Australia too, well any country that you can find on the Risk board. CH-CH-CH-CH. Thats the noise I would make as I invade Siam from Japan. Gotta control Asia in that game man. Thats the key. Then put all ur armies on Japan and invade Alaska. Take North America by storm then work your way down to South America. God I love Risk. What sux is when you see a guy with a few pieces on a country and you \"no big deal, I can conquer that\" then you realize that pieces represent 5 or 10 armies, not 1 like you hoped. Gotta chip away though if you wanna win.

Hey Obi - Still got my Risk game?

  5. Kurt says:

RISK! awesome, thats awesome. What about Stratego, you remember that one? Anyway, man, it just seems like this country is, now, becoming the wicked offspring of a child born out of wedlock to Bush and bin Laden. Its sad. I hope for HIM. and all of us, that He can fix his problems.

  6. Bartz says:

I almost feel like he has gotten nowhere close to "solving the problem" that he so dramtically went to solve. Its been 3 years and all I hear is "the country is on semi-light-purple alert" and "we got Bin Ladens right hand man. How many right hand men does he have? I think we have gotten about 36 of ‘em now.

  7. Kurt says:

I found this quote in a German article I was reading about the EUROPEANS views of America and it‘s Bush government:

"Bush represents the alien America; he gathered the silent and invisible majority behind himself, the heartland, the Bible-devoted South, which German tourists, exchange students and politicians rarely visit," he noted.

    Its not just us…

  8. Zach says:

I hate "W"! Only 4 more years. Wonder how many American lives that translates into.

  9. Chris says:

    1. We live in a republic not a democracy.

    2. Majority rule is scary.

    3. Bill Clinton wanted to go into Iraq but didn‘t have an excuse nor did he have the compassion to lead a nation into war. He would have just shot a couple missles and claimed victory.

    4. John Kerry was not a viable democratic party candidate. He did not stand for anything. With Bush you at least know what he stands for and against.

    5. I agree with the democratic party goals but not with their method of achieving them. Giving poor people money does not achieve a goal it prolongs the problem.

    6. Have you noticed any presidents from the northern states in quite a long time. Probably all the anger.

Yes I voted for Bush and I am from Texas. I did not agree with Clinton but I admired him as a politian. He was way better than Bush Sr who would have won if it wouldn‘t have been for that crazy bastard Ross Perot. Bush Sr did not deserve to win because he didn‘t stick to his beliefs. W does stick to his beliefs and I admire him for that. He did receive the only majority vote since 1988.

  10. Becky says:

This war, I believe, was inevitable. The way it was handled was handled by someone who truly does care. Is he handling in a way that I see fit? No. But he‘s the one in charge and I have to trust that he and his "crew" will know when enough is enough. I don‘t know. People need to be held accountable for their actions and we‘re the US. Always there to lend a hand, right? But at what cost? Explain to the soldier‘s families why their child is over there fighting with real guns, with real bullets. WAR SUCKS.
I‘m a democrat. But I wouldn‘t feel comfortable with Kerry in office right now. I will just wish Bush luck and pray that he knows what he‘s doing. I‘m sure he‘s had many sleepless nights.

  11. Liz says:

It is also said that we as a nation don‘t truly feel the effects of a president until 8-10 years later. You can thank Clinton for a lot of the crap that Bush is cleaning up now.

  12. Aaron says:

Clinton has only been out of office for 4 years…so if according your plan in another 4 years Clintons legacy will be truly noted

  13. Liz says:

Clinton started his office "politics" in the year 1992… so unless he didn‘t start coming up with his own policies until he ended his second term, you do the math…

  14. Bartz says:

I see what you mean, just may not agree I guess. The economy was the better with Clinton any other recent president. Do I agree with everything Clinton stood for? Of course not, but when it came to running the country he was great. He kept us out of war and in turn was able to be the only president ever to PAY on the deficit that LBJ started in the 60‘s. So what is Bush gonna do? Spend more money thats not ours and put us at war to risk more lives. Our country is going to pay for Bush‘s beliefs. And unfortunately I feel that it is no coincedence that the last terrorist attack, prior to 9/11, on American soil was the previous attack on the WTC. Who was President? George Bush, Sr. Again, we as a country will be paying for our presidents beliefs. Until I can see 100% why we are over there destroying their country and our population I will be against it.

  15. Liz says:

You have every right to disagree, just as I disagree with the namecalling contained in the obvious liberal quotes you posted. You could also have the perspective that had Clinton dealt with the many terrorist attacks during his presidency, we would not be at war right now. You could also have the perspective that it was because of the policies of George Bush, Sr that we were in such a good economic state during the Clinton reign. Or you could just believe in pure luck and fate. There is much more to running a country than spending money and playing Risk.

  16. Bartz says:

Those are a bunch of what ifs. What if __________ did this? What if _______ did that? Well _______ and _______ didnt do this and that. What is done is done and it should be a matter of trying to figure out how to make things better. Of course there is more to running the country than \"spending money\" and \"playing risk\". But what else is Bush doing? I dont see any new jobs being created. In fact we are still sending thousands and thousands of jobs overseas. What else is he supposed to do? Help small business….not working. Due to Bushs lifelong ties he strives to helping big business and industry while small business cannot compete with this. Bush supporters say \"I picked Bush cuz I want our country to be safe\". Well my guess is these ppl dont have someone close to them overseas right now fighting a war that no one knows why we are over there. For Oil…thats not working either. I feel the opposite, with Bush in office I feel like our country has a big ass bullseye on it. Im sure there are plenty of childless mothers and fathers out that would like to know as well why their children are dying and why our inflated taxes are paying for it. Just a thought. Can we talk about something happy. How about Krispy Kremes? I like the cheesecake ones.
